Camp 2011 took place in a lovely, purpose built (can you purpose build a field?), field in the grounds of Haughley Park near Stowmarket in Suffolk. With a herd of sheep in the next field ‘Neil’, the kneeling sheep, quickly shot to fame.
Camp Olympics were popular as always, particularly the ‘See how much Coke you can catch in a jug when your team mate adds Mentos to it’ game.
The beach day was predictably grey, but spirits weren’t dampened, with games of cricket, volleyball, catch the ball in a cone, general messing about, and even a swim or two.
The most popular part of Camp has always been inspection. With standards slipping in recent years it was hoped a new age of high achieving inspectees would begin. It didn’t.
A trip to the theme park was so enjoyable that nobody remembered to take any photos, except when Ola got chewing gum stuck to her face, which is to disgusting to put on the website. Back at the site free time was passed with sleeping bag races.
Camp Concert, although later than usual and let down by a host who bigged himself up too much on the 2012 page (yes – that page was written first), was enjoyable and a happy end to the week.
Thanks to Tim, Matt C, and Simon for the photos.
