Bike Europe
December 2006 - A young person at The Swift mentions to a leader how they'd like to do something crazy... like cycling to Africa from Plaistow.
January 2007 - Training begins.
February 2007 - A circular route is agreed in order to have a support vehicle. The 1600 mile route is roughly the same distance as going to Gibraltar.
August 2007 - One idea, lots of fundraising and 7 months of training later the team set off on their epic adventure.
September 2007 - A triumphant team return after 2000 miles on the road; tanned, exhausted, incredibly fit and on top of the world.
December 2010 - Three years on. Here we go again!
The young people who participated in the original Bike Europe are now leading Bike Europe II for the next generation of young people at The Swift.
This time the plan is to cycle from the London 2012 Olympic Park in Stratford, via five Olympic cities in Europe covering 2012km.
